Un-Vented Hot Water Print E-mail

This BPEC training and assessment package is for people who wish to improve their knowledge and skills in the installation and maintenance of Un-vented Hot Water Systems. There is an increase in demand for Un-vented Hot Water Systems and operatives must be aware of the skills required to ensure the systems are installed correctly.

The BPEC training package consists of an easy to read manual and attendance at a one-day course, which will include an assessment at the end of the day. The assessment consists of answering a number of key questions on the correct installation of controls.

On completion of the training and assessment an individual will be issued with a BPEC card as evidence of your competence to self install and maintain Un-vented Hot Water Systems.

Building Regulations Approved Document G3 requires that any person who installs a bulk storage (over 15 litres storage capacity) un-vented hot water system must be competent. One method of satisfying this requirement is to hold a BPEC Registered Operative identity card.

Normally, the training consists of a one-day course which covers both training and assessments. There are two different courses on offer, covering the Regulations in England/Wales and Scotland, respectively.

The cost of the training materials will cover both the training manual, the assessments and the BPEC Unvented Hot Water Storage Systems certificate and competency card (photo ID).

The training course is aimed at practising plumbers and heating engineers who already have a knowledge of the fundamental requirements of hot and cold water systems and central heating systems, or students who are nearing completion of a plumbing and heating vocational qualification at Level 3.

By undertaking training in Unvented Hot Water Storage Systems, you no longer need to contact your local Building Control Officer to approve your work. You will be recognised as being competent to design, install, service and maintain Unvented Systems and can therefore self-certify your work.
